On the 21st August 2017, Darren Chick, Branch Supervisor, and Darren Troy from our sales team at Parkers’ Tonbridge branch, and their ‘Awesome Foursome’ golf team, are taking on the Macmillan Longest Day Golf Challenge in the hope of raising a ‘hole’ lot of money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Parkers’ Partner Charity Teenage Cancer Trust.

72 HOLES, 300 SHOTS AND A 20 MILE WALK IN AID OF TWO GREAT CAUSES
The two Darrens and two other mates will be taking on the challenge of playing 4 rounds in a day, and aims to raise funds for these two great causes. The longest day of the year is actually 21st June but competitors can choose any date between May and August.
Darren decided to take on this challenge after losing a good friend to cancer last year, and (just a few weeks ago) the mother one of his 12-year-old son’s friends, who passed away at just 33. He was also moved by the plight of little Bradley Lowery, the 6-year-old Sunderland fan who recently died after a long battle with neuroblastoma.
As Darren says “this is a cruel, cruel illness and I want to raise as much money as possible to help as many people as possible to live a better life”.
